A new painting which will be on display in the Woodstock exhibition until end of April. Mainly Indian ink with watercolour.
Two paintings that were both inspired by the music I was listening to at the time, my next series of paintings will hopefully develop this idea a lot further. Also very interested in the idea of creating music from my painting experiences. Very excited to see how this develops!

Always lovely to see one of my paintings on the cover of Limited Edition magazine. This was done in Indian ink. I seem only to be painting trees at the moment!

HERE COMES THE SUN
I’ve posted this before but the wonderful sunlight this morning puts me in mind of this painting again… ‘it’s been a long cold lonely winter’

Sticking with Indian ink for now, I love the intensity of black that it provides. These trees are magnificent and a real joy to paint. Earlier in this blog you can see my summer paintings of the same trees. They are even more striking in the winter with their exposed bones!

These incredible exposed roots are a familiar sight to anyone who walks around the lake at Blenheim Palace. I have been meaning to sketch them for a long time – this was done in Indian ink using salt to achieve some of the textures on the ground.

Inspired by an early morning walk – as the rooks flew from the trees over my head. Watercolour painted from memory.

Another shot from this morning’s walk, I painted these trees in the summer (scroll down to see) I prefer them in winter with their skeletal beauty.

Took a lot of photographs this morning in a very frosty Blenheim Park. I’ll use these as a reference point for some paintings – watch blog for progress!

A watercolour inspired by the woodland around where I live. This is currently in the exhibition in Oxford ‘Flash in the Pan’ which ends December 22nd.
